  Located at the foot of an elevated Parisian metro station, the First Hotel attracts the eye of passers-by with its jet-black façade. Once inside, however, you’ll find yourself in a pastel-coloured world as reflected in the boudoir-style breakfast room, but rest assured that black is still the dominant design motif of the rest of the hotel, including the rooms.

  Designed by architect Lawrence Maugoust, the rooms at the First Hotel are full of playful objects, such as suspension lamps in the form of a bowler hat as worn by John Steed in The Avengers, or 007-esque gun lamps by Philippe Starck! Women would feel equally welcome there in the room, especially in the bright and stylish bathroom.

  There is no restaurant at this hotel, but its breakfast room, which is bathed in a lovely light pink, is the ideal place to have tea, to read and to relax, and can appeal to both genders.
