Fabulous « green » hotel!
Hotel Gavarni is a wonderful hotel in a « non-touristy » neighborhood. I was looking for a hotel that respected the environment and it does that but also so much more. The room was a little small but not an unexpected size for Paris. The breakfast of organic and fair trade breads and jams and fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious! Everybody on the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The next time we are in Paris, this is where we will stay!

Great value for money
I went to Paris for a one day business trip. My « usual » hotel doubled its price, so I looked for something convenient, close to the the metro line I needed for the meeting in the morning. Coupling Google Maps and Trip Advisor, I found the Gavarni. For Paris it is amazingly cheap. Via Internet I paid 100 euros plus 16 euros of breakfast.
The room was small, but not too much by Paris standards. It was cosy, clean, and well decorated. The bathroom was nice and devoided of mould, a rarity in the French capital. The wireless is free!!! I did not use other amenities, but the TV was brand new and I learnt there was a minibar hidden somewhere.
I slept like a baby.
The breakfast is continental, but served at the table, with a great variety of viennoiseries and orange juice pressed on site.
The location is not too bad, being a short walk from the Eiffel Tower.
