I have been to Buenos Aires a couple of times and have already stayed in 3 other hotels in the Palermo area. This time I was looking for a well located, reasonably priced place so that I could better spend my time and money on good food and wine and some shopping. With that in mind I chose to stay in Craft Hotel.
So I have to confess that Craft was way better then the sheer notch over hostel that I expected. Here is may take of the place:
- Location: this sets this place apart from other competitors in the region. You are REALLY on the center of it all (4 of the best restaurants in my guide were within a 2-block radius, and my favorite spot La Cabrera was also within walking distance). And yet this particular street is not noisy. There are no youngsters parading and screaming from cars here.
- Service: people are really friendly, you have free access to a large Mac at all times, and they do take the effort to help you out, from carrying your luggage to reservations to looking up at special places for you.
- Room: yes, it is small, but no so much so that you will stumble on each corner of the bed when you move around. There is plenty of space to have a large suitcase open on the floor. And though some have complained about the shower being on the room, mind you that the shower box is larger than in some « cooler » places around. And is well designed so as to not flood around when you get the shower.
